Dr. Hendrik Lehmann

Hendrik graduated from the Vetmeduni Vienna while already working as a student at the Perioperative Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Service of the small animal clinic. During his rotating internship at the small animal clinic of the Vetmeduni Vienna, he realized that emergency and critical care is the most exciting field in veterinary medicine. Under the supervision of Esther Hassdenteufel, Hendrik started an ACVECC residency program in Giessen. During the residency program, he explored the broad field of ECC in other facilities, such as the Vetsuisse Faculty in Bern or The Cornell University Teaching Hospital in Ithaca, USA. After completing and passing the Board exam, Hendrik continued as a senior clinician at the ECC service with a special interest in transfusion medicine, hemodialysis, mechanical ventilation, and high-flow therapy. After six years of academic work and research with several peer-reviewed publications, Hendrik returned to Vienna to participate in the start of the largest private veterinary clinic in Vienna, working closely with other specialists from various disciplines. To share experience and knowledge with colleagues still an important part of his daily work.
