“Dear colleagues, for this masterclass I recruited my two ex-colleagues and friends from NC State to share with you our experience in the clinic and in the laboratory identifying several new autoimmune diseases, investigating their immunopathology and designing new treatment approaches. These course masters are world-renowned and have extensive teaching and lecturing experience on multiple continents. This three-day course will go beyond didactic lecturing, as we planned multiple interactive sessions. We do hope to welcome you in the beautiful city of Lisbon, with its sunny weather, delightful food and wines, and enchanting Portuguese people.”
This course is designed for specialists. Common specialist’ knowledge will not be covered. Residents in their last years of training are welcome as well as holders of advanced training in dermatology. Veteducation.vet Masterclasses accommodate only limited numbers of participants, registrations will be honored on a first-come first-served basis.
This masterclass aims to help the veterinary dermatologist better understand the skin lesion development mechanism of the main autoimmune and immune-mediated dermatoses of dogs and cats to improve their diagnostic skills and facilitate their design of successful treatment approaches. At the end of the course, the veterinary dermatologists in attendance should be able to:
1) explain and compare the clinical characteristics of the variants of pemphigus, autoimmune basement membrane diseases, cutaneous lupus, autoimmune diseases of melanocytes and hair follicles, erythema multiforme and SJS/TEN of dogs and cats.
2) apply their understanding of the immunologic mechanisms leading to lesion formation to their treatment selection.
3) formulate immunosuppressive treatment plans that are individualised for each specific disease and companion animal species.

I’ve attended many derm meetings in all those years (decades) but this Mastercass on ’Immune-mediated and auto-immune skin diseseas’ in the beautiful city of Lisbon was outstanding and provided us all the current knowledge of this topic in an interactive and familial ambiance, above all by the next generation of pioneers on this subject.
Jan Declercq – Belgium
I would highly recommend the dermatology masterclass. The lectures by Thierry Olivry, Petra Bizikova and Keith Linder were outstanding. The depth of the lectures to improve the understanding of immune mediated diseases was great as well as the individual cases that were discussed. The group of attendees was small which was excellent for interactive discussions and questions. Many thanks.

Veteducation.vet was such a fantastic learning experience. They have world renown speakers delivering in person lectures in a small group setting which makes for a once-in-a-lifetime educational experience. All the speakers involved were extremely friendly, welcoming and encouraged excellent topic discussion. I absolutely loved the veteducation.vet Dermatology Masterclass and will be attending again in the future!

“As a dermatology resident, this course was so helpful! I appreciated the smaller setting and the ability to interact with the experts in the field as well as the other attendees from all over the world. It was an amazing experience and one that I would definitely attend again.”
