Course Overview by Prof. Guillaume Chanoit
This advanced soft tissue surgery course integrates theoretical and practical modules with group discussions over three full days, comprising 1.5 days of lectures and case discussions and 1.5 days of wet labs. Recognizing that successful surgery depends on precise indications, we are grateful for the support of an internal medicine specialist who will contribute insights into the diagnostic aspects of advanced esophageal and gastric surgical conditions.
Welcome to this advanced course on esophageal and gastric surgery. You are embarking on a new journey with Veteducation.vet and ESAVS’ Focus On series. Throughout this course, you will practice rarely taught techniques involving both the esophagus and stomach, developing new skills that will enable you to treat severe diseases of these organs.
I have invited Guillaume Chanoit, the current Head of the Small Animal Surgery Department at the Veterinary School in Lyon, to lead this program. Alongside Manuel Jimenez, one of the most skilled and experienced surgeons I know, they will elevate your surgical expertise to new heights. Techniques such as muscle patches, pyloroplasties, pylorectomies, and hiatal hernia repairs will no longer hold any secrets for you.
