– Day 2: Advanced techniques and case discussions in the morning, followed by practical training on canine cadavers in the afternoon.
– Day 3: Full-day practice with anesthetized pigs, simulating real surgical conditions

Building on the success of last year’s advanced laparoscopy program, Veteducation.vet is excited to offer a comprehensive series of laparoscopic masterclasses once again. These courses cater to both newcomers (November course) and experienced veterinarians (Masterclasses of advanced programs 1 and 2).
Designed for individuals with prior experience in minimally invasive surgery, the advanced programs are independent and can be completed in any order, providing flexibility to suit your learning path. With a maximum of 10 workstations each shared by two participants and guidance from four expert instructors, Veteducation.vet ensures a focused learning environment with personalized attention and expertise. Aims/learning outcomes
By the end of the masterclass, participants will be able to:
- Master Suturing Techniques:
- Understand the physics and ergonomics of suturing in minimally invasive surgery.
- Execute extra-corporeal and intra-corporeal suturing techniques.
- Demonstrate proficiency with barbed sutures in laparoscopic tasks
- Perform Laparoscopic Gastropexy:
- Evaluate and apply different suturing techniques
- Assess alternative port positions and integrate single-port or combined techniques.
- Understand and Manage diaphragmatic and hiatal hernia Treatments:
- Identify indications and techniques for repairing diaphragmatic and hiatal hernias.
- Perform Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy:
- Analyze medical backgrounds and make informed case selections.
- Differentiate between traditional and sub-serosal techniques for cholecystectomy.
- Conduct normograde and antegrade dissections with confidence.
- Utilize choledochoscopy and catheterization of the common bile duct (CBD) effectively.
- Apply Techniques in Wet Labs:
- Perform hiatal hernia repair, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, gastropexy, and diaphragmatic hernia repairs in a cadaver and live surgical model.
- Apply laparoscopic techniques in a real-time environment to improve dexterity and decision-making.
These learning outcomes are designed to ensure participants develop both the theoretical knowledge and practical expertise required to excel in advanced laparoscopic procedures.
