About this course
Introductory words from the course director
Surveys on surgical training demonstrate that what residents are lacking most is a good exposure to laparoscopic surgery. This masterclass will help diplomates, specialists, experienced surgeons and residents to finally settle in the world of laparoscopy surgery. As good basics shall always be taught by experts, I organized for you the best training team possible:
- Three renowned course masters for a maximum of 21 participants
- Training of hand-skills on models and ex-vivo anatomic pieces (2 participants/table).
- Training of surgical procedures on dogs’ cadavers and anesthetized pigs (3 participants/table)
- Practicing laparoscopic spays with 1,2,3 or single ports on shelter patients (2 participants + 1 expert/table).
In total, this masterclass will offer you 6 hours of recorded webinars, 14 hours of labs, 14 hours of lectures, interactive discussions and Quizz.
Experts
Target audience
This course is designed for advanced practitioners and specialists who are not practicing regularly laparoscopy. Residents in their last years of training are welcome.
Aims/learning outcomes
The course aims at bringing surgeon from the level of discovery to the one of confidence in basic laparoscopic surgeries.
After this master class, participants shall 1) know enough around the laparoscopic environment to perform surgery safely, 2) be able to put together and use properly the necessary instrumentation, 3) Master hand-skills, hand-hand and hand-eyes coordination, 4) Be able to perform biopsies and laparoscopic spays on their own or assisted.

Masterclass fees: 3950 € excl.VAT. These fees include the webinars, the onsite lectures, dry and wet labs, laparoscopic spays, coffee-breaks, lunches, welcome drink and social dinner. Hotel costs are not included.

• Location details: The masterclass will be hosted at the “Center of practical skills and simulation in medicine of University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj Napoca” Str.
